Elizabeth Whitham, MD, MA is board-certified psychiatrist who specializes in adult reproductive psychiatry.

She previously worked as a researcher in mood disorders at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, studying the treatment of bipolar disorder and the depressive mixed state.

She has a master’s degree in the sociology of women’s health and brings this perspective to her work in psychiatry, examining the intersection of identities affecting disease and wellness in a holistic manner over time.

She believes that patients are vulnerable both to over-treatment and under-treatment, and brings this perspective to her practice of medicine, placing patients’ experiences at the center of problem-solving in their care.

Dr. Whitham is available for evaluation and treatment of people in California.
